In these slides we discuss the following topics:
The concept of relative motion will be applied to rigid body kinematics
Earlier the relation for motion relative to translating axis were developed in chapter no 2 and the relative velocity equation was applied to the motion of 2 particles A and B as below.
For further detail of this chapter please read the slides. Also we will discuss the following topics
Relative motion due to rotation.
Relation of Relative motion
Interpretation of relative velocity equation
and we solved the sample problem 5/7, 5/8

In chapter of particles kinematics the relation for displacement, velocity and acceleration of the points as they move along a straight line or curved path were developed.
In here the same relationships will be used but also account for rotational displacements, velocities and acceleration.
Also we will discuss the following topics:
Rigid Body Assumption
Plane Motion
Translation
Rotation
General Plane motion and summary
Angular motion relation
Rotation with constant angular motion
Rotation about a fixed axis
and we solved sample problem 5/1.

As we know Mechanical Engineering is the branch of engineering dealing with the design, construction, analysis and use of machine. Mechanical Engineering is a very vast field of engineering it is also called as mother of all engineering as it included some portion of all engineering. The mechanical engineering field requires an understanding of core areas including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, material science, structural analysis and electricity also. In addition to these core principles, mechanical engineers use tools such as computer aided design(CAD) and product life cycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, artificial intelligence, medical devices, weapon and other.

HITEC University is recognized in the world due to its mechanical engineering as it also have affiliation with H.I.T(Heavy Industry Taxila) where heavy tanks and weapons of Pakistan army are constructed. Due to this the students of HITEC University have complete engineering environment where they first learn and than apply practically as most of the engineering students have engineering knowledge but they are unaware of the application. Fortunately HITEC students do not have any such type of issue and they complete their graduation with a great knowledge and experience.
Also if we talk about opportunities offers to HITEC University students than how we can forget about the student exchange program that HITEC offers to its student. HITEC University has signed a MOU with the University of Strathclyde according to this MOU students of HITEC can study their first four semesters in HITEC and their last four semesters at Strathclyde and he or she will be awarded the degree of University of Strathclyde.
